Biography
Eric Andersen is an insurance and financial services executive with extensive leadership experience in global insurance, reinsurance, and advisory services. In June 2026, Eric was named as President and Chief Executive Officer of American International Group (AIG), after holding several senior roles within the insurance industry.
He joined AIG after nearly 30 years at Aon, where he held various senior positions overseeing international operations, client strategy, and business performance. Most recently, he was the President of Aon and a member of the company's Executive Committee. During his tenure at Aon, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Aon Benfield and also as Chief Executive Officer of Aon Risk Solutions Americas. In these roles, he collaborated with clients around the world on insurance placement, capital management, and risk advisory services across diverse industries and markets.
Eric started his career in the London insurance market before joining Minet, which was acquired by Aon in 1997. He has a diverse professional background that includes brokerage, reinsurance, enterprise management, and strategic operations, all centered on fostering organizational growth and delivering value for clients.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Eric has actively contributed to both industry and academic organizations. He serves on the Board of Directors of Covenant House New Jersey and the Board of Trustees at Colgate University. Eric has also supported various insurance and public policy initiatives.
He holds a BA in Political Science from Colgate University and an MBA in Finance from Fordham University.
