Biography

Writer and editor James Reginato has been a leading journalist for the past two decades. Currently a Writer-at-Large for Vanity Fair, and a contributor to Sotheby's Magazine, he was formerly W Magazine's Features Director.

Reginato has landed rare interviews with some of the world's most elusive and fascinating individuals in their extraordinary habitats, including His Highness the Aga Khan at his chateau in Chantilly, France; Rachel "Bunny" Mellon, at her remarkable Virginia estate; and the Prince of Wales, who allowed Reginato to accompany him on a week-long Royal Tour in anticipation of his 70th birthday.

In 2016, his first book was published, Great Houses, Modern Aristocrats (Rizzoli Books), a uniquely intimate and lively look at some of Great Britain's most historic and majestic houses and the remarkable families who still live inside them. In 2019, he wrote the introduction to John Richardson: At Home (Rizzoli Books). In 2022, Simon & Schuster published his book, Growing Up Getty: The Story of America’s Most Unconventional Family.
