Jeremy is a prominent British investor and entrepreneur known for pioneering the Capital Cycle approach to equity investing during his time as co-founder of Marathon Asset Management.
In 2013, Jeremy founded Hosking Partners LLP, an independent investment management firm in London, specialising in contrarian global equities and focusing on long-term investments for institutional clients. He is one of four investment partners at Hosking Partners, each of which manages an autonomous sleeve of the portfolio.
Jeremy is a contributing author of the books "Capital Account" and its sequel, "Capital Returns." These works elucidate the Capital Cycle and are essential reading for value-oriented investors.
One of his other notable ventures is in the rail industry, where he co-owns Great Northern Railway, Locomotive Services Limited, and the Royal Scot Locomotive and General Trust. He also holds a significant stake in FirstGroup, one of the largest transport operators in the UK.
His passion for heritage railways drives him to invest in restoring and preserving steam locomotives, demonstrating his dedication to British industrial history.
