Biography

John Sunnucks is a senior strategic communications adviser with more than 35 years’ experience advising boards, chairmen and chief executives on corporate reputation, capital markets, transactions and complex business issues. He is the founder of Vico Partners and a Senior Adviser at Nepean.

Much of his career has been spent at the intersection of business strategy, financial markets, regulation, politics and the media, advising organisations where reputation and effective communication have a direct bearing on corporate value.

John spent over 20 years at Brunswick, 16 as a Partner, advising major UK and international companies on financial and corporate communications, M&A, investor relations and reputation. He subsequently became a Partner at Tulchan Communications and later chaired the UK financial and corporate division of Bell Pottinger in the UK. In 2017, he established Vico Partners as an independent strategic communications advisory business.

John works principally with boards, chairmen, chief executives and senior management teams on corporate positioning, reputation and communications. He helps senior decision-makers anticipate the reputational implications of business decisions, understand how different audiences may react and ensure that corporate strategy and narrative reinforce one another.

Outside his commercial career, John has substantial interests in music, horses, horse racing and the charitable sector. He plays the violin (in an orchestra), the piano and the organ. Other roles have included involvement with World Horse Welfare, British Youth Opera, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Wincanton Racecourse.
