Biography
Mark Hastings is a Founding Partner of Quillon Law, a London-based firm specialising in complex and high-value commercial disputes.
Described by industry directories as the “go-to person for heavyweight disputes”, Mark spearheads high-stakes international litigation, concentrating on civil fraud, asset recovery, shareholder disputes and contentious trusts.
He is trusted by clients to deal with highly sensitive and business-critical disputes.
His notable representations include successfully defending transport operator FESCO against a $13.8 billion claim brought by Ziyavudin Magomedov, which was one of the largest ever cases filed in the English High Court. He has also represented, amongst others, the Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, His Majesty King Abdullah of Jordan and the deceased oligarch Boris Berezovsky in significant commercial disputes.
Mark is recognised by leading industry directories including Chambers & Partners, The Legal 500 and Lexology, where he is noted for his expertise in civil fraud, corporate and commercial litigation and asset recovery.
His previous experience includes practising law as a partner at two internationally recognised law firms, at one of which he led the civil fraud practice.
With over twenty years of experience in handling complex commercial litigation both in London and internationally, Mark combines legal expertise with a commitment to philanthropy. He actively supports various charitable causes, including the Motor Neurone Disease Association, Centrepoint, and the London Legal Walk.
Mark holds a BA (Hons) from St Anne’s College, Oxford University, and completed his legal training at City University, London (Common Professional Examination) and the College of Law, London (Legal Practice Course).
