Biography

Matthew Hoffer is the Co-Founder and CEO of Spire Capital, a privately capitalised (single source of capital) investment holding. The firm’s strategy is absolute returns across alternative markets, with a sole focus on private equity (AI and tech, venture to pre-IPO), sports, hedge funds and digital assets. On occasions, Spire also acts on the sell-side as an M&A boutique for select mandates (focus on mid-market buy-outs and special situations acquisitions).

Matthew is also the Chief Executive Officer of Container Management, a media and market intelligence platform serving the global container ports industry - from terminal operators and shipping lines to the technology and infrastructure providers that power cargo operations worldwide.

Previously, Matthew worked at the World Economic Forum, where he was Head of Middle East Government Affairs and a Global Leadership Fellow; and at JPMorgan Investment Bank in London, within equity derivatives structured products sales.

Matthew holds an MA in International Relations from The Fletcher School at Tufts University; an MA in Business Strategy & Global Affairs at the World Economic Forum (accreditations: CEIBs (Shanghai), INSEAD, Wharton, Columbia and London Business School); and a BSc in Economics & Politics from the University of Bath. He studied formal and colloquial Arabic for one year at the American University of Beirut and speaks six languages.
