Biography

Michael Fisch is an influential investor and the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of American Securities, a leading U.S. private equity firm.

With more than three decades at the helm of the firm, American Securities has become a trusted partner to market-leading businesses with significant growth potential, working closely with leadership teams to strengthen operations, scale strategically, and build lasting value. The firm manages approximately $20 billion in committed equity capital on a discretionary basis and has made more than 80 platform investments.

Before establishing American Securities, Michael worked as a Financial Analyst in Mergers and Acquisitions at Goldman Sachs and later as a summer associate at Bain & Company while in business school. Thereafter, he worked for two private equity firms before becoming a financial advisor to The William Rosenwald Family.

Outside of his professional role, Michael has built a significant record of nonprofit leadership across human rights, education, food insecurity, economic policies, and healthcare. He currently serves on the boards of the Atlantic Council, Northwell Health, Princeton Theological Seminary, 1162 Foundation, and FleetPride, and chairs the Atlantic Council’s Freedom and Prosperity Center Advisory Council. He is also a member of the Legalist Advisory Board and the corporation of Lower Canada College, where he established the school’s first athletic bursary.

He is a member of the President’s Leadership Council at Dartmouth College and has served as a long-standing guest lecturer at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.

Often interviewed, featured on podcasts, and asked to speak at events, Michael featured at the Atlantic Council Global Prosperity Forum and the YPO Private Equity Summit in 2025 and 2026. Michael graduated from Dartmouth College with a BA in Economics and Policy Studies. He also holds an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
