Biography
Patrick Dumont is a prominent American businessman and philanthropist serving as chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Las Vegas Sands Corp. (Sands), a global leader in the development and operation of integrated resorts. Mr. Dumont holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He began his tenure at Sands in 2010 as vice president of corporate strategy, where he focused on shaping the company’s long-term direction. In 2013, he advanced to senior vice president of finance and strategy.
By 2016, Mr. Dumont was appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer, overseeing the company’s financial operations through 2021. He then served as president and chief operating officer from 2021 to 2026. Effective March 2026, Mr. Dumont assumed his current role. Mr. Dumont continues to play a pivotal role in managing the company’s capital allocation and investment programs in Macao and Singapore, and is currently leading a multi-billion-dollar ultra-luxury development that broke ground in July 2025.
In parallel with his executive duties, Mr. Dumont is actively engaged across sports, global initiatives, and community-focused efforts. He serves as governor of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks and represents the team on the NBA board of governors. He is also a trustee of the Mavs Foundation, which supports programs designed to empower youth, women, and families in need. His involvement extends to international and civic organizations, including serving on the board of directors of the U.S.-China Business Council and contributing to the organizing committee for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In addition, Mr. Dumont plays a key role in advancing Sands Cares, the company’s community engagement program. Through philanthropic giving, nonprofit capacity building, and team member volunteerism, Sands Cares addresses critical needs and supports local communities.
