Stephan Burger is a visionary entrepreneur, thought leader, and accomplished executive with strong business strategy skills & a proven track record of driving growth and optimizing operations. He specializes in Africa's mining, oil & gas, infrastructure, and alternative energy sectors. As a strategic leader with a global vision, Stephan transforms industries, leaving a legacy of growth and innovation.
Stephan has held leadership & founder roles across Sub-Saharan Africa in organizations such as Mining Oil & Gas Services (MOGS), EnergyBanq, BatteryBanq, Gas Banq, Sunrise Energy, and Ghana Port Marine System (GPMS).
In 2020, Stephan founded EnergyBanq, which provides renewable energy solutions and consulting services across Africa. He also advises The Mermaid Group on acquiring energy-related import terminals and serves on the Sandown Capital Investment Committee, holding equity stakes in several energy enterprises.
As Co-Founder of Mining Oil & Gas Services (MOGS), Stephan led the consolidation of Southern Africa's mining services sector through mergers and acquisitions. Under his leadership, the oil, gas, and energy division grew significantly, developing Africa's largest LPG import facility, a 10-million-barrel crude oil tank farm, and a multi-fuel import terminal in Ghana, among other projects in SADC.
Stephan is committed to philanthropy, contributing to Ubuntu Pathways, an NGO based in Port Elizabeth, and serving on the Steering Committee for the Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital, operational since 2017.
Beginning his career in finance at Investec Bank (SA) and later Citi Group, Stephan holds a BCom in Economics from Stellenbosch University and a Master of Management in Finance and Investment from WITS Business School.
