Biography
Terence Lazard is a professional cricketer recognised for his success in business. He is known amongst his peers as one of the most accomplished professional sportsmen, having left his mark in business as much as in sport. Terence formed family office KLT Holdings with CEO Brad Kark and Investec Bank. The private equity and venture capital firm has investments in fibre, fintech, AI / longevity and retail, while its property investments span residential, commercial and retail developments, as well as mining. KLT International and Terence’s private office invest across the US, Europe and the Middle East. Terence currently has investments in more than 30 businesses.
Most recently, his focus has shifted towards US public markets, private equity and venture capital investments. His investment thesis is based on backing people, including Elon Musk, Ben Nowak, Shaun Hurwitz, Brad Kark, Bryan Johnson, Warren Myers and George Rzepecki.
As a sportsman, Terence is passionate about partnering with leading professional athletes and helping them become successful private equity investors and business partners. His business philosophy centres on building deep friendships that can scale exponentially.
Following his sporting career, he started numerous companies including treasury management business focused on foreign exchange, debt and shipping for South African multinationals. Retail Mobile Credit Specialists was co-founded by Terence and partially sold to a major telecoms organisation, with a listed telco specialist acquiring the remainder.
He is a seed investor and was originally the largest shareholder in BetKing, one of the sports gaming companies focused on Africa and still sits on the board. Terence is also a significant investor in gaming, focusing on South East Asian markets.
As a professional cricket player, the highlight of his career was scoring 307 runs, which saw him break the South African record in first class cricket.
