Biography

Todd Wagner is a billionaire technology entrepreneur and philanthropist whose career spans groundbreaking achievements in media, entertainment, and social impact.

He first came to prominence in the late 1990s as co-founder and CEO of Broadcast.com, where he helped introduce streaming media to a global audience. Wagner led the company's record-setting IPO and its $5.7 billion acquisition by Yahoo !, earning recognition from The Wall Street Journal, the Forbes 400, and Fortune's "40 Under 40."

In 2003, he co-founded 2929 Entertainment, an integrated media company encompassing production, distribution, and exhibition businesses like Magnolia Pictures and 2929 Productions. As CEO, he championed simultaneous theatrical and digital release strategies, and has produced or executive-produced more than 50 film and television projects. These include the Oscar-nominated 'Good Night, and Good Luck', and its 2025 stage adaptation starring George Clooney, which Wagner also executive-produced for an exclusive live global broadcast on CNN.

Wagner has also focused on leveraging technology for social good. In 2014, he launched the Charity Network, raising hundreds of millions for charities through platforms Charitybuzz and Prizeo.

The Todd Wagner Foundation has advanced his vision of "venture philanthropy," supporting programs for at-risk youth, including the expansion of KIPP charter schools and After-School All-Stars in North Texas, as well as national initiatives like Boys & Girls Clubs of America and First Tee. In 2023, Wagner founded FoodFight USA, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization aimed at cleaning up America's food supply. Using technology-driven solutions, the initiative seeks to improve public health by transforming the food system from production to consumption. Wagner is a long-serving American Film Institute board member, a former stakeholder in the Dallas Mavericks, and a current owner of the Dallas Flash Major League Pickleball team.
